Course Description
Are you data-driven with a passion for organization? Electronic medical records training might be your perfect entry into the healthcare industry.
Our 12-week CEHRS program includes two courses: Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology, providing you with the essential language skills for managing spoken and written interactions in medical environments, and Electronic Health Records, which covers the ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of a career in EMR, immersing you in software simulations that replicate real-world Electronic Health Records programs.
Upon completing our program, you'll be prepared to take the CEHRS exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and embark on a career as an Electronic Health Records Specialist, EMR/EHR Assistant, Health Information/Medical Records Administrator, Medical Office Computer Specialist, Medical Records Clerk, or Patient Services Representative.
Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of the soft skills expected of an allied healthcare professional.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related Practice Management applications.
- Maintain confidentiality through adherence to HIPAA and HITECH Privacy and Security standards.
- Recognize the impact of complete and accurate charting on patient safety and reimbursement.
- Understand the use of Diagnosis and Procedure codes in medical records.
- Interpret financial, statistical, and census reports, as well as invoices, claims, and other forms.

Course Hours: 192 Hours Total
- PS 1011 – Professionalism in Allied Health: Length - 32 Hours, Duration – 2 Weeks
- HI 1014 – Introduction to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology: Length - 96 Hours, Duration – 6 Weeks
- HI 1018 – Electronic Health Records: Length - 64 Hours, Duration – 4 Weeks
